STONE lost their opening game of the season but gave a spirited display against Sapey with just nine men.
They were invited to bat in the 30-over match with openers Simon Drew and Adrian Blackledge making a steady start.
Drew (15) was bowled when the score was 40 and Stone then lost four wickets for 19 runs, including top scorer Blackledge for 41.
Stone were 85 all out off 27 overs and though their bowlers strove to contain the opposition, Sapey won by seven wickets with 10 overs left.
Matt Tyrrell (1-10) and Chris Bryant (1-25) were the best bowlers.
