Evesham 0, Blockley 2
SATURDAY'S game played at Evesham High School turned out to be a very keenly contested match.
Evesham, fielding a young team, played some neat passing hockey but were unable to penetrate the strong Blockley defence, and with the visitors being very unlucky on several occasions with the scoreline at the interval was 0-0.
However, Blockley started the second half in determined mood and went ahead when Olivia Drinkwater pushed the ball home from a short corner.
Blockley continued to press and went further ahead from a well worked short corner with Kerry Cassey beating the Evesham keeper.
Carol Cherry, the Evesham sweeper, was outstanding in defence thwarting many of the Blockley attacks to keep the final scoreline at 2-0.
