AT the April meeting, president Sue Canfield paid tribute to The Queen Mother, a fellow WI member. A minute's silence was held in her memory.
Sue also reported on the federation's annual council meeting, held at Three Counties Hall in Malvern, and informed members that the new federation chairman is Suzanne Owen.
Stella Wallis gave news of the community council and Carol Ross reported on a coffee morning held by Jackie Gregory, which had raised almost £300 for people in the Gambia.
A number of members expressed interest in attending the federation's celebration for the Queen's Jubilee, Fifty Golden Years, to be held at the Swan Theatre, Worcester.
Members were then transported to the island of Hawaii in a talk and slideshow by Dr David Arthey.
The island is a land of contrasts, with one side of it in perpetual sunshine and covered, in parts, by molten lava, some of it still moving and on fire.
On the other side it is a land of tropical plants, where it is either raining or humid and dripping with water.
There were pictures of beautiful flowers that were not plants as such but grew on rather scrubby looking shrubs or trees.
