Despite a trek to Nuneaton and being drawn against strong opposition, Redditch Swimming Club's Junior Squad put in an encouraging performance for the first gala in the Nuneaton and District Junior Swimming league.

Suzanne Britt got the gala underway for Redditch with a fine swim in the 10yr 1L freestyle.

With a pool length of 33 metres instead of the more normal 25, ten year olds were restricted to one length for their individual swims.

Leanne Savage powered to second in the breaststroke.

The girls were joined by Jessica Nice for the medley relay with Emma Green replacing Savage for the freestyle.

Both relays teams finished a commanding first.

Daniel Gatehouse swam breaststroke and Ben Rogers swam fly.

The boys were joined by Peter Walters for their relays.

The girls were joined by one of their younger team-mates for the relays where they finished fourth.
