TWO goals in the first five minutes set the tone for Fairfield Villa as they were soundly beaten 6-0 at Rugby Town in Midland Combination division one.

Villa made a terrible start by conceding twice in the opening five minutes. Two midfield mistakes allowed Rugby to take the lead through Leon Morgan and Wayne Pulford.

After this set back, Villa started to come more into the game and it needed two fine saves from home goalkeeper Neil Leech to keep Rugby's lead intact.

At the beginning of the second half Villa again conceded two goals early on, this time in the opening ten minutes, as Lee McBain made it 3-0 and Leech converted from the penalty spot.

On 65 minutes, Fairfield goalkeeper A Summers was beaten again when a shot from Phil Poole took a wicked bounce in front of him and went into the net.

Again Villa tried to get back into the game with Leon Broadhurst forcing a good save from Leech before Steve Rule scored the hosts' sixth.
