Woodrush 7 Dunlop Coventry 24
THE final blow to the Woodrush survival hopes was delivered by a lively Dunlop Coventry side who at times looked anything but a side fighting relegation themselves.
The heavier Dunlop forwards controlled the set pieces starving Woodrush of possession.
But the hosts kept in contention with two well-taken tries from winger Andy Parkes, showing he has lost none of his youthful speed despite the approach of veteran status.
He opened the scoring after five minutes with a blistering run down the right flank with Martin Leech converting from the touch line.
Again, in the second half with 10 minutes remaining it was Parkes who gave Woodrush hope, putting them into a 17-16 lead with a run from deep within his own half which Leech again improved in front of the posts.
But it wasn't to be and continued Dunlop pressure was rewarded on the stroke of full time when a try was scored following a rolling maul.
