KINGS Norton went into the final game of the season knowing they needed a win to guarantee avoiding the drop from Midlands Four West South.
But Mark Waudby's side went down to a heartbreaking late loss to champions Ledbury only to be saved by fellow strugglers Stourport's loss at Droitwich.
Stourport's mini resurgence was not enough to keep them out of the bottom three and Kings finished one place and one point above relegation.
Kings are set visit Old Yardleians on Saturday (ko 3pm) and McGlynn said thoughts are already turning to next season.
Captain Mark Waudby is set to step down at the end of the season.
