I AM researching my family history and would be grateful if anyone could help with information.
During the Second World War, my late mother and her sister moved from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne to Redditch to do war work in a factory.
Can anyone help me identify the type of factory it might have been? Were they manufacturing munitions, or if not, what?
Does anyone have any memories of "migrant" workers in the area which may add to the picture?
My mother and her sister were Doris and Phillis Turnbull.
Both married men they met in the area.
My mother subsequently returned to the North East but her sister remained in Redditch for many years after the war.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can be contacted at the address below or email: john@jbradford.freeserve.co.uk.
