IT was a case of out with the old and in with the new for Redditch Council this week, writes Matt Smith.
After more than 28 years, the last Redditch Council meeting under the old committee structure was held at full council on Monday.
The new leader and cabinet system will be in place from May after the town referendum at the end of last year.
At the meeting, the council discussed a number of key issues, including the new constitution and a document outlining an ethical framework to guide councillors and officers.
And councillors also discussed the corporate plan for this year and next outlining vision, priorities and growth opportunities for the council in the next three years which also looks at performance monitoring under the government's Best Value accountability scheme.
Final approval was also given to items discussed at earlier council committee meetings.
