COUNCILLOR Wharrad, in his letter, sought to warn Redditch people of what he sees as threats to council services if the Conservatives win this year's local elections.
What we have now read in the national press is the speech made by Liam Fox MP, the Conservative health spokesman, about their plans to get rid of the NHS and replace it with an American-style alternative where anyone needing hospital treatment would only get it if they were privately insured or could pay cash.
This is a Conservative plan to make everybody pay one way or another on entering hospital and kill off the NHS.
People in Redditch ought to contemplate what it would mean to them and their families and consider what it would mean for our hospital, for which many campaigned long and hard and fought again more recently when it appeared to be under threat.
