DROITWICH Spa Men's Hockey Club Firsts finished off their championship-winning season with an 8-4 friendly victory over Leominster.
Spa, recently crowned champions of DTZ West Midlands division one, opened the scoring after ten minutes when Barry Williams laid on Nick Bates to slot home.
Bates added a second shortly after from a penalty corner before the visitors shocked Droitwich with three goals in quick succession to lead at half time.
The second half got off to a bad start for Spa when Ed Deacon took a blow to the foot, which was later confirmed as broken.
Droitwich however got back in the game with goals from Liam Hine, a hat-trick from Paul Atkinson, Nick Bates and Paul Woodward.
