A PILOT project, which aims to revolutionise renting accommodation in Droitwich Spa, has been launched.

Residents seeking social housing in the town can now take part in the Homechoice initiative which is being pioneered by Spa Housing Association.

The Queen Street organisation will now allow house hunters to apply for homes, rather than being selected from a waiting list.

Association director of operations Donna Baddeley said: "We are confident this new scheme will prove popular for people needing good quality, affordable rented accommodation in Droitwich.

"By giving people a chance to choose their own homes, we believe we can help build stronger communities where people are not only pleased with their own property homes, but are also pleased with where they are living."

Housing bosses will now place weekly adverts of properties for rent in the local press, their town centre office and their Westlands branch.
