GREEN-FINGERED youngsters at a Droitwich school have been lending a helping hand to breathe new life into a jubilee wood.
Children at Witton Middle School, in Old Coach Road, have been bringing the silver jubilee wood into the 21st century, ready to mark the Queen's Golden Jubilee in June.
The original wood, which was planted for the Queen's Silver Jubilee, offers the children many benefits including a nature area and a play area.
Headteacher David Coll said: "The youngsters have been doing a great job. We started laying down new pathways and we have added a few little extra things including logs, just before the children broke up for Easter.
"As well as marking the jubilee, we are currently working towards eco-status, so reviving the wood will hopefully help us to gain that as well."
