WORCESTER City striker Adam Webster is proving a real bargain buy for manager John Barton.

The 21-year-old, who cost £7,500 when signed from Bedworth in December, is enjoying a rich vein of form in front of goal. His brace against Welling United taking his tally to six goals in his last six games.

It is a marked improvement in his strike rate which saw him hit the net just twice in his first 11 games for City, but the forward points out goals do always equate with how well he plays.

"I'm getting among the goals and although Saturday wasn't one of my better games, as a striker you are there to get goals and I've got two. But I must admit I have played better and not scored," he said.

City's hard-earned victory against the Wings has injected some much-needed confidence into the team according to Webster.

He says it sets them up nicely for their remaining games against Havant & Waterlooville away and Bath City at home.

"It gives us a little bit more confidence and self belief to go on and win the last two games," he said.

"We definitely needed the win and dug in well to get the victory.

"Even though it is drawing near to the end of the season and we're not going up or down, we are still up for these games and I think grit and determination won us the game.

"The last two games we felt we were unlucky and thought we should have had a draw but we enjoyed a bit of luck against Welling especially to-wards the end when they had a few chances.

"But we put our goals in and they didn't though if I was in their shoes I would have been disappointed to lose."
