A GROUP of have-a-go-heroes chased and apprehended offenders in two separate thefts in Hereford.
At around 3.30pm on Saturday, April 13 in Tesco, Bewell Street, a man snatched a purse and was chased by several members of the public.
He dropped the purse and was eventually cornered by the gang and police officers.
Officers are now trying to trace the owner of the purse, which is small, black and leather-type with a single clasp and contained a small amount of change.
At 4.40pm on the same day, a man made off from Hereford Gold, Commercial Street with some gold chains.
The owner of the shop and members of the public chased the thief, and detained him until police arrived.
Police said they were very grateful for the help of the public.
Anyone with information should call Sgt Andy Scott on 01432 276422.
