THOSE Worcester people wishing to make the most of their gardens and allotments can soon pick up some handy hints thanks to a newsletter for enthusiasts.

The newsletter, published by the Worcester Allotment Forum, is due to be sent out in the next month to all allotment tenants with an allotment pack, as well as being available at the council reception at Orchard House, Farrier Street, in Worcester.

Published four times a year, it aims to keep allotment gardeners up-to-date with news and developments, as well as providing regular features from groups such as the Worcester Organic Gardening Group and Worcester Garden Centre. Additionally, there will be competitions, special offers and plot availability.

"The allotment newsletter provides a focus for the activities of the Worcester Allotment Forum and is an important communication tool for both tenants and forum members," said Chris Waterfall, Parks Development Officer at Worcester City Council. "As well as providing a regular flow of information items, this edition includes information on a new allotment recipe book initiative, as well as competitions, special offers and feature articles."

Mr Waterfall added that there are currently more than 950 allotment plots throughout the city and anyone interested in renting an allotment plot in Worcester should contact Margaret Johnson on 01905 722312.
