ARTWORK by a talented student from Dyson Perrins CE school in Malvern is to be displayed on church noticeboards throughout the town.
Paul Gwilliam, who is studying for AS levels and an Art and Design GNVQ, was picked by the school's head of art to design a poster reminding people of Holy Week after a request from Malvern Link churches.
The striking black and white artwork, which depicts the Crucifixion in the style of 15th-century German artist Albrecht Drer, will be displayed outside at least 16 churches throughout Malvern.
"It was certainly something that was great fun to do," said the Year 12 pupil, who spent weeks researching and hours with paint, pastels and ink to produce the work.
Reverend David Gutteridge, who distributed the posters throughout Malvern, presented the 17-year-old with a £30 book token on Wednesday.
"What you have done has been very much appreciated by everyone, and there has been an enormous amount of favourable comment already," he said.
He added some ministers had mentioned they will use the picture as inspiration for sermons at Easter.
