IT'S been success after success for Evesham youngster Daniel Keen.
He has proved almost unbeatable in cross-country races and is now looking to transfer his talent on to the track during the summer months.
After being crowned Worcestershire Under-13 champion, Daniel went one better by being crowned the best in the Midlands after crossing the line two seconds ahead of his closest rival in the Midland Championships at Leamington.
The Worcester AC member then finished the Gloucester League series at Cheltenham with an outstanding lead to take the gold medal and team success made it double tops for the Vale youngster.
Schools cross country trials at Bredon in an age group above his usual standard, didn't faze the 13-year-old and another first place earned him a place in the County Schools race at Bromsgrove.
Again he was up against older rivals but managed fourth place to earn a place in the National Championships at Chelmsford.
Facing the challenge of 375 fellow competitors, the Simon De Montfort Middle School pupil ran excellently to be first Hereford and Worcestershire runner across the line and 92nd overall - especially against older opposition.
The National Championships at Wollaton Park in Nottingham was Daniel's next test but, a bout of the flu leading up to the race, saw him finish 96th but still learn from the experience.
It's been a fabulous winter for Daniel who, after becoming a champion of the country, is now aiming to become a terror of the track!
