A WORCESTER man accused of sex offences against pupils at an approved school where he worked 20 years ago has denied all the allegations against him.

Geoffrey Allen denied eight charges of indecently assaulting boys, two of buggery and one of attempted buggery.

As the charges were read out to the 63-year-old, he replied "I am not guilty" to each.

Allen's appearance is the result of a police investigation into the running of the former Sedbury Park School for boys in Sedbury, near Chepstow.

The approved school was run by Gloucestershire County Council and provided accommodation and education for boys aged 11 to 17. It closed in 1986.

Nine of the charges against Allen, of Barbourne Terrace, relate to four boys and concern the period from April 1977 to July 1983. The final two charges, both of indecent assault on the same boy, relate to the period between November 1993 and November 1996.

Allen was granted bail pending trial, which will take place in July at the earliest.
