ONCE again, the ever-popular Russian Ice Stars are appearing at the Everyman Theatre in Cheltenham - this time to present the chilly circus spectacular, Barnum on Ice.
The stunning re-creation of the story of the 19th century ringmaster PT Barnum and his famous circus will 'roll up' on stage on Tuesday February 5 until Saturday 16.
The Russian ice stars, many of whom are Olympic and World champions, will be demonstrating their fabulous skills, skating on stilts, performing aerial acrobats, fire juggling and much more - all performed on 14 tonnes of ice.
To prepare for this show the skaters have spent many hours of rigorous training with the Russian State Circus.
It takes a day and a half to prepare the ice rink on stage for the skaters' 12-day run. The ice is kept at a temperature of minus 15 degrees thanks to a network of pipes one and a quarter miles long, beneath the frozen surface.
Barnum on Ice has a new musical score by Tim Duncan with David Lawrence and Stephen Lee Garden singing vocals.
