OVER the past weeks during the bad weather, well meaning people have been going to Arrow Valley Park to feed the birds and ducks, which is very thoughtful and caring.
However, after feeding the birds they are then throwing the plastic bags on the floor. This is very dangerous to wildlife, not only the birds but foxes, squirrels, mice etc.
I have seen so many bags blowing about and I have seen even more nibbled on the corners.
If a small creature were to be caught up in a plastic bag it would not have a chance to escape and would suffocate.
The action of not disposing of the bags correctly is thoughtless and contradicts the object of feeding the birds. Feed the birds but do please dispose of the bags thoughtfully.
