The series of Worcestershire Cricket Society Winter Cricket Evenings continues on Tuesday (January 8) when the speaker will be Dr Andrew Hignell.
A geography master, cricket historian, Glamorgan's official statistician and an author (a recently-published book details the life of Maurice Turnbull), Dr Hignell will speak on "Rain Stops Play", a resume of the effect the weather has on our enjoyment of cricket. He hopes to answer questions such as which county ground is the most affected by rain, and where is cricket-watching the most reliable.
The event starts (weather permitting) at 7.30pm. and is held in the Cricket Suite at the Worcestershire County Cricket Club ground at New Road, Worcester.
Admission is free to Society members; £2.50 to non-members.
