THE owners of a Worcester florists says they are not holding their breath for the council to come and relocate a road sign above the shop, as it was originally arranged more than three years ago.

Worcester City Council opted to relocate the road sign in Vauxhall Street after it was obscured by the shop sign for florists shop Bloomin' Wonderful.

The shop's owners had gone through the right channels and applied for planning permission for the shop sign, but when it was erected they discovered it obscured most of the Vauxhall Street sign.

Council officers then decided to either move the street sign along or lower it on to a separate brick wall.

However, shop co-proprietor Colin Presland says that so far, they have not been contacted by the council.

"It seems ages ago now, but there's been no sign of them," he said.

"I don't think it's top priority because there is the same sign on the other side of the road, so they may have decided to leave it altogether.

"People can still work out where they are."

Worcester City Council principal engineer Andy Walford says the work will get done.

"It appears to be one of those things that's slipped through the net," he said.

"But if we acknowledged that it would get done then we'll honour that, albeit a little later than originally planned."
