GLOUCESTER entertained Malvern in the Malvern Hills Indoor Bowls Inter-Club League last Saturday but the side failed to build on their previous success.
The game however was extremely close on three rinks with only two ends to play. Gloucester held on to win the one, but Malvern rinks skipped by John Raisen and Frank Foulkes managed just those extra shots to win 15-12 and 18-12 the latter being 12-all with three ends left. Malvern's other two rinks won by 21-13 (having been 10-0 after only two ends) and 19-12.
Malvern gained a further 12 points to head the league with an overall score of 88-67 shots from a very keenly fought game.
