Chewing the Cud, by Dick King Smith (Penguin Books, £12.99)
This is the autobiography of the famous farmer.
The story is about growing up on a farm with his family and animals who he loved very much, and that is the main reason his farm fails and a new occupation has to be found.
There are happy and sad parts in this book and if you enjoy farming and the country life, you will certainly enjoy this read.
I read this book because I enjoyed Babe, but I felt it was more for an older age group, or if you live on a farm and have that interest at heart.
Personally I would only give this book five out of 10, as I did get bored in parts.
SCOTT FINNEGAN (Aged 12).
