A simple place but homely
That lies deep in a farmer's yard
The going has not been easy,
Its life's been very hard
White walls of stone and mortar
Are beginning to show their toil
The place needs things adoing
Once more to make it royal
Evening sun through windows shining
On pews two and three
The floor it needs repairing
As plain as you can see.
The power points get warm and flash
It's not good for you and me
Something just needs checking
Ah the old electricity
Now you have read my story
Here's what I mean to say
A pound or two from me to you
Would make St Andrew's Day.
GORDON REE, Birchall Cottages, Pixley, nr Ledbury. (In support of St Andrew's Church, Pixley).
