Traders are putting on a special day of entertainment for all the family this Christmas in Barnards Green.

As well as shopping at their favourite stores, customers will be able to listen to carols, have their faces painted and, of course, meet Father Christmas on Satur-day, December 15, from 10am to 1pm.

"It's to give something back to the customers," said Chris Hunt, owner of Hunts the florists and joint co-ordinator of Barnards Green Traders.

"Barnards Green is a popular place and a nice community. An event like this keeps the community going."

Children will be especially well catered for with Mr DooDoo the clown entertaining them on stilts whilst juggling and creating animals and other shapes out of balloons.

There will also be a free children's competition in which they can win a voucher for a local store by finding all the unusual items displayed in traders' windows.

Naturally, Father Christmas will also be wandering around handing out presents.

Adults are not being forgotten either. There will be various bands playing in 30-minute slots including the Malvern Junior Choir, Malvern Inner Wheel Singers, Malvern Festival Chorus and an all male voice choir. McLean Hand Bell Ringers are also making an appearance.

There will be a raffle with proceeds in aid of Malvern Community Hospital and a visit by the mayor of Malvern, Whinray Coates.

Organisers are promising a fun-packed day both customers and traders will find more beneficial than just late-night shopping. "It's fun all the way for all the family," said Mr Hunt.
