A RARE chance to hear Handel's Messiah in its entirety will be offered at Worcester Cathedral on December 8.

The work is generally performed in an abridged version with several items omitted, but Worcester Festival Choral Society will perform the complete score.

Conductor Adrian Lucas, master of choristers at the cathedral, will be leading a distinguished group of soloists. Lianne-Marie Skriniar, fresh from success at the Kathleen Ferrier Competition, will line up alongside Richard Poyser, who has toured Spain and the US with celebrated small chamber choir Sixteen.

John Bowley, whose voice can be heard on the current Mercedes-Benz M-Class adverts, will also star, as will Christopher Dixon, who has toured extensively in England and Germany.

Tickets range from £3.50 to £18, free for children, from Worcester Tourist Information Centre and the cathedral shop on 01905 640845. The performance starts at 7.30pm.
