KEEP fit fans have managed to raise £1,800 for a baby recovering from meningitis.

They teamed up with Worcester Carnival Queen Jenni Francis to hold an aerobics session in aid of Isla Rose Barrett-Campbell who was left with problems following a rare form of meningitis at three weeks old.

The baby now suffers from limited vision, epilepsy, developmental delay, breathing difficulties and an inability to control her body temperature.

Her parents Chris Campbell and Tony Barrett will put the cash raised from the event at Perdiswell Sports Centre, Worcester, towards the running of an air conditioned car supplied by the Meningitis Trust for transporting Isla to appointments in Norwich.

Organisers want to thank those from instructor Carole Lorimer's classes who helped make the fund-raiser such a success as well as young farmers in the county who donned fancy dress.
