THERE will be a tree-mendous atmosphere inside St Laurence's Church when the fourth Bidford Christmas Tree Festival takes place next weekend.

Up to 40 differently decorated Christmas trees will be displayed in the church, each decorated by a group from within the local community.

The festival will be staged in the church on December 8 and 9, when adults can pay £1 and children can pay 50p to vote for their favourite tree.

All proceeds from the collection will go towards church funds.

In past years, there have been angel trees, rope trees and one from Bidford Health Centre, which they called a supposi-tree!

This year, there will be a Christmas raffle, tombola and refreshments. The church will be open from 12 to 6pm on both days.

The Rev David Hall said: "This is our fourth year and it seems to grow from strength to strength each year.

"If you can imagine the church takes on an extraordinary atmosphere as dusk draws near and the magic created by 40 lit Christmas trees, all beautifully decorated as darkness approaches, has to be seen to be believed."
