AFTER an amazing 15th visit to the British Biathlon Championships, Michelle Kimberley was finally crowned national champion.

Last weekend's success for the 28-year-old teacher at Bowbrook House School, Peopleton, capped a fantastic year in which she has represented Great Britain in an international biathle and the European Life Saving Championships.

Michelle, a former modern pentathlete, has also represented England in the Commonwealth Life Saving Championships, finished third in a national Dream Team cross training competition and also enjoyed numerous triumphs with the South Worcester Life Guards.

"This is the icing on the cake, " she admitted. "I have worked extremely hard over the past few months and I am really pleased to have ended the season on a high."

And, showing her true dedication, Michelle added: "I am now looking forward to a rest before the start of the new season."

Michelle's latest triumph saw her see off all competition to finish first in the 2000m cross country run and then clinch her coveted crown after a 200m swim.
