CONDITIONS proved difficult at Pensham for an Avon Shield Series match when roach proved the favoured catch for the majority of members.

Despite the wind and rain, Gra-ham Mytton edged out Tony Brooks to take top spot.

The next Jubilee match is Sunday's Fur and Feather and entries should be confirmed with any committee member.

Results - Avon Shield: 1 G Mytton 2.15.8; 2 T Brooks 2.14.0. Section A: Phil Seed-house 2.0.0. Section B: Duncan Edgeley 2.7.8.

ALL Pools are still fishing well with carp, orf, roach and perch all feeding well in the mild November weather.

Pegs 1-3 on the Top Pool are the best for big carp with two in excess of 20lbs taken last Wednesday. Maggot is the best bait.

Sunday's club match on the Bottom Pool also produced double figure carp together with plenty of roach, chub and perch showing on pegs 8-15.

Island pegs on House One have also had their share of large carp with peg 10 the spot for 30lbs in weight in four hours by a weekend pleasure angler.

House Two is again prolific with golden orf while there was a 40lb bag of roach and orf last Friday.

The area between pegs 20 and 28 on the Canal is still producing some bigger bream, with the addition of plenty of roach and perch still showing elsewhere.
