The Caldwell estates of Kidderminster were owned by the Wyntour family of Huddington Court Their eldest son, Robert, was a principal plotter.
When Guy Fawkes was caught red-handed on November 5 the conspirators ran, hoping to escape to Wales via Hanbury, Hewell Grange, Hagley and Stourbridge, making an unsuccessful stand against the pursuing kKng's men at Holbeche House, Kingswinford, from where Wyntour and the others who survived were taken to London and executed.
The Christmas social will be held on Monday at The Old Carolians Rugby Club, Marlpool Lane, at 7.30pm when a talk will be given on King Charles I Grammar School anyone planning to attend is asked to give their names to Nick Hughes beforehand.
