PERSHORE were denied victory with the last kick of the game.
In an uncompromising encounter Pershore were soon in the ascendancy with the forwards establishing a solid platform for the backs to capitalise on.
From a set-piece centre Sean Crouch made a fine angled run to deceive the home defence and touchdown near the corner.
Early in the second half winger Steve Holmes extended the lead when he turned his opposite number inside out to score under the posts.
With a 12-point deficit Alcester rallied and they were soon pressing the Pershore line with a fresh momentum.
A deserved try set up a rousing last ten minutes with Pershore finding themselves predominantly on the back foot. The consistent pressure finally brought reward for Alcester as they crossed the line for a second try.
A twice-taken conversion saw the referee blow for full time with the scores level and honours even.
