FIVE Division Three wins in a row is the aim for boss Jan Molby as big boys Luton Town hit Kidderminster on Saturday.

Harriers are up to eighth in the table after beating Bristol Rovers 2-0, Leyton Orient 3-1, Lincoln City 1-0 and Rushden and Diamonds 3-0 on Saturday.

The impressive displays have given fans real hope of a possible play-off challenge.

And the visit of Joe Kinnear's Hatters is sure to be a major test of their credentials as the former top flight club, relegated from Division Two last season, are in fourth place.

But with Harriers' 4-3-3 formation reaping rewards in front of goal, fragile Luton have conceded 16 in their last five away games.

However, Molby warned: "They have still got a positive record away from home, scoring 20 and conceding 19.

"A lot of people say when they're at the top of their form, they are capable of beating anyone in this division and winning enough games to get into the top three.

"So it will be another test for us. They are capable of giving us some problems, I just hope we can give them a few too.

"But we are playing well at the moment, creating chances and starting to take them more.

"You have to keep being consistent though. Although we're not going to win every game until the end of the season, it's about how we react when we do get beaten.

"There's going to be an opening for somebody to get into the play-offs because one or two could drop out."

Harriers have two more striking options as Drewe Broughton and Ian Foster have finished suspensions but midfielder Danny Williams is now banned.

Molby hinted Dean Bennett, who has scored four in as many league games, could move back to midfield with Broughton's height making him the likely choice in attack.

Williams' loss will be a blow as he has been settling in well with the Dane admitting: "I expected him to be a good player for us.

"Sometimes you have to give players that little bit more time and he has missed games through suspension and injury."

But loan signing Ritchie Appleby has done his chances of a permanent contract the world of good after slotting in well alongside Williams.

Molby added: "He's five years older than when I last managed him and that maturity has done him no harm at all as a footballer.

"He has one game and another 10 days on loan. I know what I want to do in an ideal world but we will get Luton out of the way first."

Meanwhile, concern at a potential 10-week absence for defender Adie Smith has been tempered by the young talent at the club.

Smith requires surgery on his groin problem but teenager Lee Ayres is training again after a broken toe and Abdou Sall has cemented his first-team place.

Ayres was due to appear in last night's reserve game at home to Mansfield Town.

Molby added: "Lee's a very talented footballer with a good understanding of the game and a tall centre-half.

"He needs to become a little bit stronger but that will come with games. We're looking forward to having him back.

"As for Sall, it's all been a bit earlier than expected. If he continues to improve, he will be a valuable player."

Saturday's opponents Luton yesterday had a renewed bid for Mansfield's prolific front-man Chris Greenacre turned down.

They will be without the suspended Adrian Forbes and have injury doubts over Dean Crowe (ankle) and Jean-Louis Valois (groin and ankle).
