THE public and private sectors came together on Friday for a business lunch in Bewdley.
Hosted by citib@se, which provides serviced office centres for small and medium-sized businesses, the event attracted high-profile representatives including Wyre Forest MP Dr Richard Taylor, Wyre Forest District Council chief executive Walter Delin and John Kitson from HSBC in Kidderminster.
"The biggest issue on the agenda was how the public and private sectors need to talk to each other more," explained Ian Read, a citib@se director. "We also discussed fostering small and medium-sized businesses and putting Wyre Forest on the map."
How to use Kidderminster's multi-million pound regeneration scheme to local businesses' best advantage was also touched upon.
"We need to create more employment opportunities for local people," added Mr Read. "This would create huge benefits for the area, such as reducing traffic congestion."
