NEW signing Brendan Hackett says he made the right choice to turn down the manager's job at Stourport.
The former Swifts player-coach was offered the post after Rod Brown joined Redditch but opted to follow his manager to the Valley as a player.
"I was offered the job and turned it down," said Hackett.
"I believe to be a manager you have to manage full-time and I want to continue as a player.
Having been succesful with Gary and Rod at Stourport I thought it was right to team up with them again at Redditch."
Hackett joined Stourport at the start of last season and helped guide them to the Midland Alliance title before a solid start this season.
He is ineligible for Tuesday's Worcestershire Senior Cup tie against Solihull and is hoping to play in the trip to Clevedon on December 8.
