GOOD cod! A Bewdley fish and chip shop has scooped a top industry award and been named the best in the whole of the Midlands and East Anglia.
Catchems End Fish Bar has been given the outstanding accolade by the Sea Fish Industry Authority - but owner George Georgiou is not satisfied and is fishing for the national title next time around.
Mr Georgiou, who has been at Catchems End for 15 years, said "putting customers before profit" and consistently
"grade A quality food" was the secret behind his success.
Sea Fish representatives visited the shop, which has three full-time and seven part-time employees, on several occasions while customers were asked to fill in forms.
Mr Georgiou said: "The shop has always had a good name and has won awards before, but none as big as this.
"It was a national competition and we didn't make it as the best in England.
"That is the prize I am going for, that is how I judge my standards."
