ENTHUSIASTIC Cleobury Mortimer seconds were undone in a 29-14 friendly defeat at strong Ledbury.
Their match highlight was sandwiched between two unconverted tries for the home side.
Dan Bills intercepted a Ledbury pass just inside the Cleobury half and set off on a sprint to the posts.
Just as the line beckoned, he was caught up by a high tackle and awarded the penalty try with Nigel Williams adding the conversion.
At 10-7 the contest appeared even but the home side responded with three tries and two conversions after the break.
Cleobury were finally able to gain a consolation after Jon Banford finished off a planned move from a line-out with Williams converting.
Paul Burrows and Banford had excellent matches, while Kevin Shields was solid after returning from injury.
