CHADDESLEY Corbett reached the next round of the West Midlands One South League Cup with a 3-1 home victory over Division One North side Wyrley Rangers.
Midfielder Andy Shuck had to play in goal with Neil Evans stranded elsewhere, while boss Martin Westcott, physio Chris Knight and new matchday secretary Allen Stock were on the bench.
However, the trio were not needed as every player gave a good display with debutants Sean Williams and Brian Burton impressive.
The players' pre-match warm-up comprised going round the pitch with wheelbarrows and shovels, clearing clumps of mud, but they came out to play with determination and soon took the lead.
Top scorer Craig Pratt volleyed home from the edge of the box past visiting goalkeeper Mark Vaughan.
The young home side worked hard and defended stoutly, nullifying any attack from Wyrley.
They increased their lead when Pratt finished off a move down the left side of the pitch with a shot that sped into the bottom corner of the net.
After the break, Chaddesley continued to pressurise their visitors and Pratt's fellow forward, Matt Baynton, caused Wyrley all sorts of problems.
They only had Vaughan to thank for keeping them in touch.
Ashley Davis pulled a goal back for Wyrley with two minutes left but Chaddesley immediately replied through Andy Birch.
Fixture, Saturday: Chaddesley v Sedgley White Lion (kick-off 1.45pm - players meet at Longmore for 12.45pm).
Squad: Shuck, Knight, R Burton, Ash, Roberts, Kilgour, B Burton, Birch, Williams, Pratt, Baynton, Vogel, L Jordan, S Jordan, Webb, Morgan.
