Littleton 2, Droitwich Sports 1
LITTLETON moved confidently into the last four of the Worcester-shire Junior Cup with their ninth successive win in an unbeaten start to the season.
Although the scoreline would seem to indicate a close game Droitwich hardly had a shot on target, and their goal came with the last kick of the match.
Littleton's commitment put Droitwich under pressure on all parts of the pitch, and none did better than the back three of Perry Beddoes, Curtis Major and Matt Cotton.
The hosts were very quickly into their stride and had chances to take the lead through Chris Bate, Billy Hiden and Matthew Edwards.
They eventually took the lead two minutes before half-time when Mark Gledhill received the ball from Bate some 18 yards out, turned and fired past the keeper.
In time added on, Adie Wilde hit a post, and immediately after Littleton went 2-0 up. From a corner the ball came out to Major who shot home from the edge of the box.
The second half continued in much the same vein with Littleton's leading scorer Des Cox having two shots scrambled away and Philip Haines working hard up front in a game sponsored by Willersey Provisions.
Droitwich scored their consolation goal with a deft header from their substitute in the 95th minute just before the referee blew the final whistle.
