EVESHAM started well against hard working opponents and, after several near misses, they took the lead through Jonathan Wein.

Minutes later Wein added a second and Ben Parry headed in a third just before half-time.

After the break, Bardwell came out fighting and breached United's defence to make it 3-1, but the league leaders had Tom Henry Miles and David Huggins in resilient mood at the back.

Evesham now pressed at every opportunity at the other end and Lance Smith snapped up a chance and Robert Andrew notched the fifth goal to secure three more points and make it nine Witney League wins out of nine.

Littleton Colts U-11 0, Campden 0

NO goals but Littleton battled all the way to hold a good Campden side.

Mike Powell and Luke Mountney were stalwarts at the back while goalkeeper Steve Powell produced some good stops.

Littleton's best chance to end the stalemate fell to Phil Jones, whose goalbound shot was blocked by a similarly defiant visiting rearguard.

Drakes Broughton U-12 5,

Avon Athletic 1

RAMPANT Rangers recorded their second successive 5-1 win and were given the perfect start when Chris Gardiner netted.

Battling Avon levelled before a magnificent sole effort from James Alexander gave Drakes an interval lead.

Goalkeeper Alex Billington kept Avon out after the break before Aron Letterese nudged Drakes further ahead. The scorer then added a second as the hosts seized control and the ever industrious Sam Hicks capped a fine win with a fifth goal.

Peopleton Tigers 6,

Bredon Colt Cobras 1

SATURDAY'S mini match saw Cobras give their all in an excellent match when Peopleton proved too strong.

Despite being second best, the Bredon lads attempted to play good football and their efforts were rewarded when Jack Newman netted a consolation after Luke Norman's centre.

Goalkeeper Felix Denton, Andrew Durrant and Alexander Phillips all showed good form for the gallant losers.

Norton Rgrs U-14 12, Pershore Tn 2

RANGERS scored nine times in the first half before easing off and gifting Pershore two replies with deflected own goals.

However, the top of the table hosts soon had the points wrapped up after James Muddiman's first minute strike.

The same player added a second to make it 9-0 at the break after Scott Williams (2), Pete Stedman (2), Dan Cotterill, Oliver Worthington and player of the match Tommy Sandles had also found the net.

Muddiman and Williams were rested in the second half when Ashley Knight scored twice and Tristan Buckley fired in his side's 12th before Norton gave away two goals through deflections on the slippery surface.

Alcester Ath U-12 0, Bredon Colts 1

A SINGLE goal separated the top two in the Ambassador Evesham Boys League and it was the visitors who ended Alcester's impressive unbeaten home sequence.

Bredon maintained their 100 per cent record but they struggled early on to cope with the pace and strength of their opponents.

James Offord bagged the decider after a shot from Arron Phillips was blocked but Bredon were grateful to a goalline clearance to prevent Alcester drawing level.

Ombersley 1, Salford Rvrs U-13 7

VICTORY in convincing style saw Rovers through to the next round of the cup after a 7-1 win.

Ashley Wilkes scored the only goal in the first half but Salford dominated after the break when a Josh Cocker corner saw Matt Layton head in.

It was 3-1 two minutes later when player of the match Ryan Ellis found the net and further goals from Layton, Jamie Coughlan and two more for Wilkes completed an emphatic win before a late Colts consolation.

Evesham Utd U-11 1, Littleton 5

LITTLETON came away with the points against an improving Evesham side.

The introduction of Matt Taylor saw Littleton start to take the upper hand and it was his through ball that sent Matt Goss clear to score.

Another Taylor pass released Ben Johns who cut in from the wing to make it 2-0 at half-time.

Littleton increased their lead soon after the resumption when Ryan Clarke scored from the penalty spot but Evesham replied almost immediately when Alfie Sutton pounced on a loose ball.

A pass from Tom Cuthbert then found Clarke on the edge of the box and he cut inside a defender before firing an unstoppable shot past the keeper for 4-1.

Phil Davies rounded off the scoring to give Littleton a comfortable victory.

Drakes Broughton 4, Broadway 1

DRAKES chalked up their third win in a row with a convincing display against a solid Broadway side.

The winners opened the scoring with a goal from Owen Johnston to which Broadway were quick to respond with an equaliser.

From that point on, Broadway were rarely able to get a shot near goal due to some tight marking.

In attack the home team were always difficult to stop and Johnston scored a further three goals thanks to passes from Tom Lloyd and Josef Havas.

Littleton 13, Dunnington 1

LITTLETON'S control of the game was rarely questioned and the first half ended with the home team 6-1 ahead.

Littleton's excellent passing game ensured a real team effort and saw six players find the net.

Alex Trinder (4), Liam Hundley (3), Craig Stanley (2), Kyle Brotherton (2), Matt Creswell and Ben Goss were the scorers.

Dunnington's reply came from Felix Chadwick.

Vale Youth 1, Welland 0

VALE knew they had to tighten up defensively after their recent performances and both sides played good football.

Defences were on top until a through ball from Oliver Steele found Chris Aston and he drove home with the last kick of the first half.

The second period proved to be just the same with Vale's defence well controlled by stand-in skipper Brett Danby.

A series of corners in the last few minutes caused Vale to just hang on for a well deserved win.

TOM McLaughlin scored for Vale with a great header after 15 minutes.

Just before half time two substitutions by Rangers led to Philip Marsh knock one past the goalkeeper with his second touch and Adam Rimell followed with a great shot for the second.

Both teams had periods of sustained attacking in the second half when Vale almost clawed back a point in the last few minutes but were thwarted by a strong Rangers defence that had Stuart Perks in fine form.

Stratford Utd 3, Littleton 0

THE visitors defended resolutely in the first half through sustained United pressure.

However, when Callum Wright put Harry McKinney through to slot home early in the second half, Stratford were in the driving seat.

Littleton threatened but found United player of the match George Bird and keeper Paul Evans in excellent form.

David Euinton added a second after a fine individual run before tapping in a third following a defensive mix-up.

Badsey Rgrs U-14 3, Lakeside 6

RANGERS crashed to defeat as Lakeside banged in four unanswered goals after trailing 3-2 early in the second half.

Dan Willmot and Sam Linley ensured parity at half-time and the latter then fired Badsey ahead.

Rangers lost a player through injury and the ten men wee overwhelmed as Lakeside secured what turned out to be a comfortable win.

Tom Willmot's usual solid performance earned him the Badsey player of the match vote.

Droitwich Spa 1,

Evesham Utd U-14 6

EVESHAM returned to winning ways with a vengeance after taking command of Sunday's game from the opening whistle.

Gareth Wolford gave United a 2-0 lead and the pressure continued with Michael Freemantle added a fine headed third.

Droitwich made it 3-1 after the interval when Evesham produced even better play as Wolford completed his treble. Dwain Dewett and Kevin Miles completed the scoring.
