STOUPORT Hockey Club moved into joint second spot in National League Division One after a 5-1 hammering of visiting Brooklands brought them their most convincing victory of the campaign.

The town club have a real chance of returning to the top flight because they still have to play rivals Bournville at home, and St Albans twice.

Laith El-Khatib gave them an early lead, but in a tight period of play the visitors equalised 20 minutes later from a penalty corner.

Stourport really piled on the pressure in the second half with free-flowing hockey, and excellent passing movements which inevitably led to two further field goals for El Khatib, and two for David Westhead.
