A MUSICAL programme has been planned to entertain visitors to Worcester's Christmas Fayre.
The Victorian-themed street market will be held amid sounds of handbell-ringers, brass bands, school choirs and dance groups.
The entertainment will be held in Marks & Spencer's yard in New Street, but there is also a programme of events in St Swithun's Church.
The church, which is in Mealcheapen Street, has lined up a host of acts from jazz bands to local choirs.
The Georgian church is closed during most of the year so this is an opportunity to go inside and admire the interior.
From 6.30pm to 7.30pm tonight the Night and Day jazz duo will kick off the festivities in the church.
The McLean Handbell-Ringers, a group from Hanley Swan, near Upton-upon-Severn, will follow at 8pm until 8.30pm.
The Great Witley Operatic Society will entertain visitors on Saturday, December 1, with a selection of songs.
The group is celebrating its Golden Jubilee Season next year with a performance of Gilbert and Sullivan's Yeoman of the Guard. Members will be performing from noon.
"By opening the church to the general public at this festive time and combining this with a host of entertainment and events, we hope to encourage people to visit us," said Monica Martin from St Swithun's Church.
"It's a great opportunity to see some local groups and societies."
All the events are free.
