A WORCESTER man bought a car for £20 but crashed it later that day.
David Brant, a disqualified driver, had been drinking before he bought the car in May 2001.
Droitwich magistrates were told the 20-year-old knew he should not have been driving.
"On May 16 he bought a car for £20," said Peter Parson, prosecuting.
"He knew he shouldn't have driven it on the road without insurance or MOT.
"He admitted to police he had a few too many.
"He had been driving in Malvern and went too fast. He lost control in the road and crashed.
"No one else was involved but he was subsequently found by police."
Brant was found to have 51mcg of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35mcg.
Brant, of Henwick Road, St John's, yesterday admitted driving with excess alcohol, driving while disqualified, driving without MOT, driving without insurance and failing to stop after an accident.
The court heard he had been banned from driving in January for 12 months.
Brant had been charged with driving while disqualified nine days before this incident.
Magistrates adjourned the case for a pre-sentence reports until Friday, December 21.
