WORCESTER'S antiques expert Henry Sandon is sharing his passion for fine porcelain in a new video.

Mr Sandon, who regularly appears on BBC TV's Antiques Roadshow, is the presenter of the documentary which provides a behind-the-scenes look at the factory.

"I became a mad-keen potterholic after finding pieces of porcelain in my garden when I was a boy," he said.

"We had a house near the Cathedral and I would regularly uncover pieces of porcelain which sparked my fascination and, in turn, changed my life."

Mr Sandon went on to become a curator at the Worcester Porcelain Museum before finding fame as one of the nation's most popular experts.

During the video, he reveals some of the very best pieces of Royal Worcester and explains the production process of the pots and plates which are exported around the world.

"It's more of a personal chat with the viewer than a dry historical account," said Mr Sandon, who still lives in the city.

"We take a look around the factory and museum and tell some amusing anecdotes from some of the determined characters who created the great porcelain.

"I am still a collector today, but my most valuable pieces are not determined by money. They are the ones that have been made or painted by people in the factory that I know personally."
