Sikh Union 5, Pershore II 2
PERSHORE started against the current league leaders in disastrous fashion by conceding a well-worked goal in the first few minutes.
Pershore were now on their back foot against skilful opponents and, without some inspirational saves from goalkeeper Longhi, and some last-ditch defending, the final result would have been an even more resounding victory for the home team.
Pershore continued to battle hard and trailed at the interval despite a great individual goal from Smith. More poor defending saw another one conceded at the opposite end but Smith struck again.
Pershore pushed for an equaliser but again were caught out following a penalty flick against them.
The dismissal of Smith for dissent as tempers flared ended any hopes of a fightback.
Pershore III 4, Worcester V 1
A YOUTHFUL side were inspired to victory by the ageless Speake who provided useful link play to the more inexperienced players.
The goals came from Gill, Bales and Walker.
