Stratford Ladies 2, Leicester 2

STRATFORD started the game strongly and opened the scoring after five minutes.

The goal came from a great early ball from Carina Taylor that wrong footing the defence, with Alison Scott neatly finishing it off.

Leicester soon levelled with an easy goal after some poor defending.

The game was evenly fought with some great attacking play from both teams.

Stratford's player of the match, Ellena Swift, produced some great defensive play.

Stratford were unlucky not to score on many occasions from open play and corners but it was Leicester who took the lead before half- time.

The second half was very close but towards the end, Stratford created the most chances and Lucy Peacock levelled the score from a well worked short corner.

Warwick Ladies 1, Stratford II 2

STRATFORD knew they had a tough game on their hands with several regulars missing and a determined opposition.

An excellent game was the outcome with both sides playing at pace and contesting every ball.

Stratford opened the scoring with a goal from a short corner by Janice Kerse and went two up with a lovely strike from Sally Willes. Outstanding performances from Hillary Finnis and Karen Lucas combined with a great team effort secured the points despite a superbly taken late goal by Warwick.

Stratford III 3, Great Alne 3

GREAT Alne started strongly with several attempts at goal only to find Stratford's goalkeeper and player of the match Polly Green in fine form.

There was some excellent defending from Stratford while Vicki Dudley was strong in midfield.

Sarah Davies bagged her first goal of the season with Vicki Lee scoring the remaining two goals.

The fourth played Banbury on Sunday in a friendly, an excellent game played well by all, especially Hayley Cole who had several attempts at goal.

Nina Ramskill hit a hat-trick, while George Cross and an own goal secured an easy win.

Campden Ladies 3, Bidford 1

BOTH sides turned out depleted sides for Saturday's friendly but it was the hosts who ended the day the happier after a comfortable win.

A brave solo run from halfway by Sarah Bragg led to Campden's opener after ten minutes but, despite numerous attacks from both sides, the score remained 1-0 at the break.

Shirley Aubrey celebrated her return after "maternity leave" to score a fine second for the hosts after the outstanding Kate Henderson, playing an unaccustomed role in central midfield, crossed the ball.

Faye Marchant pulled one back for Bidford with an excellent strike but the home side had the final say when Bragg scored her second of the day.
