A WINYATES Green marathon man who braves extreme conditions for a good cause is pulling on his running shoes again.
Having completed the 200-mile Marathon des Sables in the Sahara Desert and becoming the first British runner to complete the gruelling Foulees de la Soie in China, Doug Richards is off to Siberia.
Mr Richards, 53, of Flaxley Close, will brave some bitter conditions at Omsk on January 6, which coincides with the Russian Orthodox Christmas celebrations.
All proceeds will go to the Meningitis Trust.
