REDDITCH Skate Park is hoping to attract advertisers happy to have their company name emblazoned on ramps.

Redditch Wheels Project, which runs the popular facility in Arrow Valley Park, recently became a registered charity and needs help with maintenance and running costs.

The park, which went independent from Redditch Council earlier this year, has proved popular with young people and attracted a wealth of TV, magazine, press and video coverage in its short life.

In particular, two major events for in-line skating and BMX bikes featured prominently on TV and in national magazines. They also attracted thousands of people.

The skate park opened with a fanfare late last year after tireless work by Mr Rooke to get it off the ground and win a grant from the council.

In all, the park cost £110,000.

Any company interested in advertising can call Mr Rooke or project manager Matthew Blizzard on 524550.
